Purpose

ASC Advocacy Center

The Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association (MASA) acts as an advocate for its ambulatory surgery center members, offers educational opportunities, and provides a forum for disseminating information valuable to the running of high quality, cost-efficient centers.

Education

To promote educational programs which will be relative to out patient surgical centers and to obtain CEU’s for those attending (i.e. R.N., Surgical Technologists, X‑ray Technicians, etc.)

Networking

To promote unity, standardization and exchanging of ideas relating to the ambulatory surgery centers. To hold meetings at different centers throughout the year to encourage greater participation and unification among the participating centers.

Purchasing

To present ourselves as a unified group and negotiate better pricing from vendors.

Accreditation

To assist each other in preparation and maintenance of accreditation through development of standards, policies and procedures.

Newsletter

To produce a newsletter which will be sent to participants in order to keep them informed of current issues, supplies, conferences, etc.

Marketing

To advertise and to negotiate contracts with individual businesses and insurance companies for ambulatory surgery centers in the State of Michigan.

Lobbying

Lobbying efforts for promotion of ambulatory surgical centers’ specific needs.

Legal Advise

To assist in access or to retain legal console as needed relative to ambulatory surgical center needs.
